ROMANS 13: Yes, Government IS Ordained of God, but…..

This is a work in progress.

Romans 13…
I do believe all governments are ordained of God, but that does not mean it will be good. But God’s children (Those who are saved by Grace) do not have to fear it. But you do need to ask yourself what has the US done that God thinks we deserve the government we have? If rights are bestowed upon us by God then only God can take them away so why is He taking them away? And if you are one of His then you know how this ends, all politics aside. NO MAN in the oval office or any below can alter that. But why?

Before I start I want to tell a brief story. I had to go to court and was guilty of breaking man’s law and was still found not guilty. I won’t go into the particulars but God showed me two things, the law I broke hurt no one but me, if it hurt even me, and not to fear the lies that the officers told. You see, I never set out to hurt anyone and I didn’t hurt anyone. God knew the intent of my heart. He was also aware that these officers were lying against me to make it look like I was some terror out there that needs to be stopped. Another thing I noticed in preparing for court. Up until the last couple months before court I looked diligently at the evidence and knew the case inside out. But the last few months I lost interest in preparing and just decided I would play it by ear in court. I had no clue what I was going to say. I will add a link to the audio of my day in court below but I also had resisting arrest charges against me and God gave me the foresight to video tape the encounter which proved the officer lied.  And to this day I don’t believe a single officer viewed the video or even understood what they were seeing. We were even denied evidence.

Romans 13(KJV)

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil…

There are generally two trains of thought here; 1) Because the government is led by ungodly men we are under no obligation to follow it. We must remove ourselves from all evil. And 2) Government is ordained of God and we must follow it to the letter. Both seem a bit off base when taken into context of the Bible.

Looking at what Christ says in Matthew 22 it is in keeping with verse 6 of Romans 13.

16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?21 They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

And yet again there are usually two trains of thought; 1) We owe and must pay taxes. And 2) We are under God, not Caesar, and owe no tax. Again, both appear to be wrong.

When approached about the tribute Christ was basically asking who owned the money. Then He proceeded to tell them if it was Caesar’s money Caesar had a right to ask for it back. When someone lends you something, like the Federal Reserve, the loaned object is still property of the lender. They can ask for it back.

If government is, and I believe it is, ordained of God then where the problem lies is in that God will give you the government you deserve and not the one you want. “But America is a Christian country.” Is she?

In the book of 1 Samuel, chapter 8, God warns the Hebrew Children what will happen if they reject Him and set up a King over themselves and He did not paint a pretty picture. He told Samuel He would give them a King but the King would take from them and give to who he chose. Sound like Washington today? Man has never learned to turn from governance back to God.

And the worship of states and statesmen was born. I get to see this in high gear every time an election comes around. God’s warnings are never heeded.

Jeremiah 17
Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

I have seen people do some evil things to get “Their” guy elected. I have seen people I thought I could respect lie for and about candidates. I have seen candidates promises people things they never plan to deliver and the people eat them up and praise them like they are Gods. Idolatry. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

Luke 22
24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

So, here is Christ saying not to be in a position of authority. Which begs the question, “Can someone be a follower of Christ and be a politician?”. How could they be a “doer” of the Word? Christians should not, nor be encouraged to, look to government when they should be looking to God. Government has become the US’s idol of worship. It will not, nor can it save you.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-13

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. …

John 4:23-24

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Death to America; A Biblical Theocracy?

It may come as a shock to most “Christian” Americans but the US Constitution is a secular document and not meant to be a ringing endorsement of Christianity. In fact, it prohibits the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob from having any say at all in government.  The first Amendment is the culprit. Yes, it does give you the right to worship God as you see fit, but it also prohibits you from pushing your will on anyone else. And what I see running rampant through politics these days calling itself “Christianity” makes me thank God for that.

I am a Christian and the thought that this faux Christianity could in fact push its way into politics and create a Biblical Theocracy based on a skewed belief system is something every Christian should be concerned about. The Beast of Revelations could be manifesting right before our eyes.

When I see the conservative movement trying to push through legislation based on “religious” beliefs I have to wonder if they know the difference between a Representative Republic and a Theocracy? And whose idea of “Christianity” do they think will end up reigning over them?

WHY IS CHRISTIANITY SO OPPOSED TO CHRIST ?

Why is the Church so dead set on going against the word ? Mainly this is seen in the politics of the Church. And should the Church even be involved in this arena? I call to mind God’s warning in the book of I Samuel where Israel wanted a king over them like everyone else. The people had rejected the reign of God and wanted to be reigned over by a king so God sent a warning by Samuel to the people and told them what the king would do to them. But they still wanted their king. God also warned as the king would take all from them they would cry out to Him but he would not harken to their voice. This king today in America is government. It steals from the people and makes slaves of them but they continue to want this government over them placing their faith in man and not God.

In Jeremiah 17 God goes on to say, “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm…Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.”

There is a lot of controversy over Romans chapter 13 as to obeying Government. Some of the arguments I hear for not obeying make little to no sense. That is not to say you should bow down before the almighty Government, but let’s look at some of the arguments out there. And I will start with my favorite; public prayer.

As the Government uses freedom of religion to prohibit public prayer the Church has taken it upon itself to fight for the right to have it as they think of this as an attack on Christianity. But is it? Let’s look at what Christ has said about it.

     ST. MATTHEW 6

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they     love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

It appears that Christ was against public prayer. These were His words ,”shalt not”. Praying in ones closet even makes it impossible to remove prayer from school. So I ask, where has the Government went against the word of God here? And is this not a case where the Government should be obeyed?

There is also a call to have the Bible taught in school and, as I will point out, it is so hard to find a Church that teaches it as it should. If the pastors are unable, or unwilling, to teach what Christ says is there a chance that the schools will do a better job. How many parents in a country where we have freedom of religion would really want practicing Wiccans teaching their children the Bible? Or even someone of a different Christian sect that teaches a different Jesus? I would think the parents would want to teach it themselves or even just let the child read it for themselves. I am sure there are those who will say they need a teacher so let’s again go to the word.

     ST. JOHN 14

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach  you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

     1 JOHN 2

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

While we are in 1 John  2 let’s look at another verse of interest. Verse 22, which states, “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the  Father and the son.” In light of this and the fact that the Church seems to be, or so it says, against antichrist would this not make the term Judo-Christianity a contradiction in terms? And what about the new Chrislam? Why do the people of God allow themselves to be so easily led into the lies of the Church? What do they have against Christ?

Now we have the Government running around removing the 10 Commandments from public buildings and Christianity running around trying to put them back up. Why has the Church taken it upon itself to put us all back under the law? Why deny the Grace of God through the finished work of Christ?

     GALATIANS 3

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree.

     GALATIANS 4

28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the spirit, even so it is now.

30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free

     GALATIANS 5

1 STAND fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

     EPHESIANS 2

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

In Revelation 17 it speaks of this faux religious system that will spring up and chapter 18 warns to come out of her so as not to be partaker of her sins and receive of her plagues. As I see the Government go after the Churches I have to wonder if this is not the government fulfilling the will of God.
